Productions, technical variability and technological innovation in the Neolithic

Productions, technical variability and technological innovation in the Neolithic

The project focuses on the technological innovation changes that led the introduction of the Neolithic economy in the Northeast of the peninsula. The main case study is the technical productions developed by the human groups settled at the Neolithic village of La Draga (5300-4800 Cal BC). These productions will be addressed concerning the strategies developed for subsistence: both the exploitation of resources related to the raw materials procurement, and the activities associated to their manipulation and transformation to be used as instruments and utensils.

Likewise, the good’s patterns of consumption will be studied, investigating their function, efficiency, longevity, amortization and eventual recycling. With all this we intend to establish the degree of specialization achieved and its contextualization from a synchronic and diachronic perspective, with special emphasis on the changes regarding the productions of the last hunter-gatherer groups during Mesolithic.
